I created a few web sites and started sharing simple written reviews of all the gear I was buying along with an affiliate link back to Amazon.com.
It worked like crazy!
For a while.
Then, SEO (search engine optimization) started getting more and more challenging. Google kept changing their secret formula for deciding which sites would rank at the top of the keyword search results.
One day, my web sites were on top, the next day they were buried in the search results.
Meanwhile, pay per click marketing was getting more competitive and the percentage of people clicking through was declining.
It wasn't a pretty picture, and my experiment started failing. But one day, I noticed a new trend when I was searching on Google...
